Daisy - My Lipstick collection

Recently I had a huge lipstick clear-out. I'm constantly buying them and my collection got a bit unmanageable so I got rid of about 3/4 of them (including the majority of my high-end lippies, it was hard for me!); I gave them away to family and friends or just chucked them away.

Anyway, I thought I’d show you what I’ve got left.

My colour wheel (sorry about my messy writing) keep in mind this picture is slightly washed out.

Ellie | All-time Favourites | bareMinerals

Bare Minerals Ready blush in “The Indecent Proposal” (rrp £22) is absolutely gorgeous. It is a lovely “Rich deep plum” shade but once blended it loses pigment. Personally I think it’s the perfect natural everyday shade, it adds a hit of colour to your cheek and glides on the skin easily without feeling too heavy.

I instantly fell in love with Bare Minerals Ready blush in “The Confession” (rrp £22). It is a slightly different shade to “The Indecent Proposal” with rich brown and orange undertones. This blush looks amazing on all skin tones especially if you have more of a golden complexion. It really enhances your cheeks but I think it is more of an autumn shade. “The confession” is definitely darker and more pigmented than “The indecent Proposal” and like most of the blushes I have purchased from Bare Minerals it is long wearing and blends easily into your skin.

I've been using Bare Escentuals’ bareMinerals Ready SPF 20 Foundation (rrp £25) for over a year nowIt gives medium to full coverage but doesn't feel heavy or cakey on your skin and it has SPF 20 protection against the sun also it is very hydrating.  The Ready foundation comes in a wide variety of shades making it easy to find a suitable colour for your skin tone.  But if you are looking for lighter coverage i would recommend Bare Minerals ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation.

One Hit Wonder is one of my favourite eye shadows from bare minerals. It is a classic pale yellow shade. Although it appears matte, It has a slight shimmer which makes it perfect for highlighting your  brow bone but you could also use it as a base.

Another favourite of mine is RitzyRitzy is a gorgeous bronze cocoa shade. It is heavily pigmented and I think this is a good eye shadow to add a bit of sparkle to a Smokey eye without it looking too dramatic and heavy.

i'd love to know what your favourite bareMineral products are?

Bye

Sleek | Blush By 3 Palette

-Sorry for the bad picture quality -

We are huge lovers of Sleeks range of products, so when we recently found their “Blush by 3” pallets, we just had to get one! We haven’t tried the ‘blush by 3’ pallets before but from past experiences of sleek we knew they would be incredibly good quality and look beautiful once applied.

We chose to purchase one of sleeks new blush pallets; “Pink Lemonade”.  The three gorgeous shades are Pink Mint, Macaroon and Icing Sugar – which are very nicely named if you ask us. They're all pink and peachy shades – Perfect for spring and summer. As usual they are quite pigmented and blend effortlessly onto your cheek.

They can be applied lightly to the apples of your cheeks, for a natural wash of colour – Ideal for everyday but they can also be applied more heavily to achieve a different look. We like this pallet because it has a combination of powder and cream blush, instead of the usual three powdered blushes – the powder blushes provide a healthy glow to your cheeks and highlight your cheek bone whereas the cream blush is matte and adds a hint of colour but is just a lovely.

What’s not to love - three beautiful shades, lovingly name and all concealed in a pretty little box for just under £10! – Can Sleek do any wrong?

Have you tried any of the “blush by 3” pallets? What's your favourite shade?

We would also like to thank you for your support on bloglovin', we really appreciate it.

Ellie | Lush & Boots Haul

For the last few months I have found my lips have been extremely dry and chapped so when I was in lush I decided to purchase one of their amazing lip scrubs. As I am not a fan of very sweet smells I decided to get Mint Julips. I have only heard good things about the lush lip scrubs but I have never bothered to try them. I've just tried it and it tastes delicious and has made my lips feel lovely and soft – I think this will so become a staple item in my makeup bag!

I have to admit this purchase was at bit of an impulse buy, Maybelline the Rocket Volum’ Express Mascara. I have mixed views on this product, but as I have only used it twice I can’t say if it was worth purchasing.  It defiantly has “Rocket Volume” and doesn’t clump but I found the brush was too big so I couldn’t use it easily for my bottom lashes.

La Roche-Posay Effeclar Duo has been creating a lot of excitement in the beauty world for quite some time now and the hype just keeps getting louder. I haven’t been using It long enough to decide if it really is a “miracle worker” but based on other beauty lovers opinions I’m sure I will not be disappointed. I have quite oily skin and I have heard it can become drying but judging on the majority , what do I have to lose?

I know I’m not alone when I say I love Baby Lips! Although I have read some reviews saying they were a disappointment, I personally think they’re great value for money – but at the end of the day, there just a lip balm. Some are tinted, others offer sun protection but the one I purchased, Mint Fresh, just smells nice. The packaging, although it‘s nothing fancy, is just adorable. There are definitely better lip balms out there but at £2.99, it isn't half bad.

I have to admit I brought this shampoo bar out of curiosity and the fact it looks a bit like a macaroon! I’m not quite sure how to use it but hopefully my hair will be left squeaky clean! It claims to add shine and simulate hair growth for healthy hair – and you know what I have high hopes for this product! It has a warm, spicy scent of peppermint, cinnamon, clove and nettle (if that’s a smell) but I personally love it, although I can be a little overpowering. I am eager to try it and might do a review once I have (only if you’d like me to).

At the moment Maybelline are really bringing the heat, however I haven’t heard much about their new Better Skin foundation but I recently ran out of my much loved Rimmel Match Perfection foundation and wanted to try something new. It has been formulated to give you “perfect” skin – to even out redness, blemishes and darkness.  I tried a little out on my cheek and I liked the feel as it applied smoothly and didn't feel heavy. It gave medium coverage and blended nicely although because there range of colours were limited I found it was slightly to dark for my skin but I’m sure a dusting of powder will fix it.

I have used the collection lasting perfection concealer previously and loved it. It has to be without a doubt my most repurchased beauty product ever- it comes in four different shades, fair being the very lightest - and the shade I use. I couldn’t find it at first but then I notice the packaging had just had a facelift. It has quite a thick consistency , making it great to cover blemishes and lasts for most of the day – although I wouldn't say it lasts the 16 hours the packaging claims.

Hope you enjoyed this post
Lots of Love

Hair Care | Monthly Favorites

We thought we'd share our most loved hair products of this month. We are quite picky about what we use on our hair, so some of the products we have been using for many years but lately we have branch out and have tried a few new products which we are excited to tell you about. So if you’re looking for some new products or just nosing around, here are our recommendations!

Moroccan Oil

We're sure this needs no introduction since it's one of the utmost hyped hair products of all time, but here we go anyway, Moroccan light oil (we can just hear you cheer with us). We have been using this for about five months now and it is by far one of the best hair treatments out there. Although the price tag is a little hefty - but don't let that put you off as we have hardly made a dent in it and we have been using it like mad! We just had to see what all the excitement was about, and we're so glad we did. We have been using Moroccan oil religiously lately and our hair has defiantly benefited from the nourishment.

Another Moroccan Oil product has weaselled its way into our hair routine this month; The Moroccan Oil Luminous Hairspray. This is a long-lasting, strong and workable hairspray with a flexible hold. It leaves your hair shiny, frizz-free and silky smooth. It is fine and can be brushed out easily. It doesn't leave your hair sticky, greasy or gritty. We found that although the bottle was large and held a lot of product it didn't last that long with only just under two months use in it (and we only used it every other day) this was a bit of a pain as it comes with yet another heavy price tag.

Garnier Ultimate Blend

We recently took a trip down to boots and we came across the new Garnier Ultimate Blend sleek restorer shampoo and conditioner. We weren't expecting much as many shampoos and conditioner claim to be 'frizz free' and don't actually do what they claim, but this product works miracles. It smells incredible and makes your hair feel weightless, instantly giving a silk, smooth feel, unlike some shampoos that make your hair feel very heavy. We can't say it left our hair completely 'fizz free' but we were very happy with the results.

The Toni and Guy sea salt texturising spray is one of our new purchases. Its smell is fresh and we don't find it too drying like other sea salt sprays. It is great for styling the "beach hair" look and gives a bit of Oomph to your hair on a lazy day which is also good for updos. We usually keep it in our bags just in case our straightened hair goes a little wavy during the day.

One more Toni and Guy products we have been using this month is the Toni and Guy Nourish Reconstruction Hair Mask. This works wonders on damaged hair leaving it silky soft and shiny.

What are your favourites of the month?
We'd love to hear your thoughts and any ideas for future posts
Happy Easter

The Perfect Pamper Evening

Taking a nice long soak in the bath after a long, dull day of work is easily one of the nicest and most relaxing feelings there is and as we own a fair few bath time beauty products, we thought we would share them with you.

The first thing we do on a pamper evening is take our make-up off so our skin can soak up all the steam and general loveliness from the bath. We like to use the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish for this. We have used many hot cloth cleansers before but we always end up coming back to this, it is just the best hot cloth cleanser we have ever used and we would highly recommend it to everyone, it isn't oily or drying so it suits all skin types, and it isn't too pricey which without doubt is a bonus, we just love it. We then use a toner, we like to use the Caudalie Grape Water, and this is really lovely as most Caudalie stuff is, it smells nice, it's cheap and it does its job.
After we've removed all our make-up we start running a bubbly bath, this is when we add our chosen bath products, these are things like bath bombs, bath melts, bath salts and bubble bath/bars. We have thought long and hard about our favourite bath products and have narrowed it down to these.

Bath bomb - Lush Twilight  this is good if your have trouble sleeping and it has an incredible smell!
Bath Melt - Lush You've been mangoed this is perfect for making your skin feel super soft and we love the name.
Bath Salts - Fig+Yarrow Pink Love Salts  this has a lovely scent that is the balance of fruity and floral also it has such a cute tub.
Bubble bath - L'occitane Verbena Foaming Bath this product always leaves our skin feeling smooth, soft and clean. It smells lemony and fresh and it lasts for ages.

This was a little odd at first as it comes in a powder and you have to add the water yourself, but once we got used to it, we really started enjoying it. The fact that it's organic makes it even more enjoyable as we know we're not putting a load of horrible chemicals on our skin. If our skin is really dry (this tends to happen in the colder, more miserable weather) we use the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Oatmeal Mask. We like this but can sometimes find it too moisturizing but every once in a while we will use this for a super skin moisturizing session. The hair mask we use is Tigi S Factor Serious conditioner.

Once we've done all that, we eventually get in the bath. We sometimes like to read a book or magazine but most of the time we just sit and soak it up, you know what we mean. It's also lovely to light a candle and have a big glass of water with ice.

When we get out of the bath, we wash off our masks and moisturize using a Korres Jasmine Body Butter (this is a floral scent, but it also has fruitiness to it and we think it also has Shea in it, this product is perfect for dry skin and sinks in quite quickly). Finally, we might paint our nails; use our night time skin/face care, which we will do a post on that some other time (if you want).

Well that was a long post, thank you if you read this far!

The Body Shop

To start off, we have been lovers of the body shop for a few years now. Since stumbling across the shop while we were in the city. The smells are amazing and most of the products work and feel gorgeous on your skin. But because there are so many products we love, we decided to only show a few, otherwise we'd be here for years.

With that said, let’s go!

Body Butter
The body butters are probably our absolute favourites to date from the body shop. They are very rich and creamy and it almost Instantly hydrates your skin. Our favourite fragrance is coconut. The only down fall is, like most other body butters, it can feel quite greasy and sometimes it means having to wait a long time for it to sink in therefore you have do a weird dance to try and sink it in, or is that just us? We definitely recommend this for your stash of skincare goodies.

rrp: The prices vary from £5 - £13

Tea Tree Blemish Stick
We have only been using this on our blemishes for a few months but it clears them up right away. Since buying our first one we have always had a tea tree stick in our skincare collection. We're sure we are one of many when we say this but it really does work. And if you don't own one, you really must get one.

rrp: £6.00

Lip Butters
Personally, we love the Lip Butters! They leave your lips feeling soft and smooth. We both suffer from dry, chapped lips through autumn and winter but these have been absolute saviours, they have kept our lips lovely and fresh all through the colder weather. Also they smell delicious, bonus! We have tried the scents Shea, Coconut, Mango & Dragon Fruit, and loved all of them. But our favourite is the dragon fruit lip butter.

rrp: £4.00
